Artist Statement:
This painting captures the peaceful beauty of a calm sea under a dark night
sky. A gently sailing traditional Sri Lankan boat symbolizes life’s quiet
journey, guided by hope, patience, and resilience even through darkness. I used
bright, vibrant colours to create a striking contrast against the night and
draw the viewer’s attention while maintaining a calm and peaceful atmosphere.
Different colours highlight the wooden structure of the boat, adding character,
depth, and visual interest. A real rope is incorporated into the artwork,
bringing texture, authenticity, and a unique connection between the painting
and reality.
