This artwork shows a tall wooden sailing ship moving slowly across a dark blue sea under a quiet night sky. The ship has many masts, ropes, and empty sails, painted in strong brown tones that stand out clearly against the soft blue background. A bright full moon hangs in the sky, giving the scene a calm and peaceful feeling. The sky looks textured, almost cloudy, with layers of light and dark blue that suggest wind and movement in the air.

Artist Statement: With this painting, I wish to express the painful but real side of our life journey. The sailor on the sailboat has all his sails broken, yet he still declares, “I have confidence that I can overcome this.” This image reflects the spirit we all must carry in the race of life.
Life is very much like a race—sometimes smooth and joyful, but often filled with unexpected obstacles.
Along the way, we face family struggles, overdue loan instalments, pending education fees, medical expenses, and financial burdens such as vehicle leasing or rent.
At work, we encounter pressure, conflicts, and challenges, while at home, we may struggle with the responsibilities of being a parent or a child.
These difficulties can feel like broken sails slowing us down.
But just as the sailor refuses to give up, we too must not ignore or run away from our problems.
Instead, we need to make a plan, choose the right path, and move forward step by step.
The key strength that carries us through this life race is confidence—the belief that no matter how hard the storm, we have the power to overcome it.
